Artist Profile: Dean Raybould
Dean Raybould
‘It’s pretty quiet outside of Takaka, and recording it is taking up more and more reel time in my work– there’s room between Tui and the milktankers for other sounds like ochre and swandry red, space in the pauses that occur a lot around here to bridge the gap between fauna and homocrapiens with a bit of incised notework on wooden flesh and pore-ious ply beneath plastic hides. Especially when winter tents the hills and any birdsong seems a bit, stretched’.
