Artist Profile: Dorian Brown

Dorian was born in Wellington but grew up in Cheltenham Beach on Auckland’s North Shore.

A self-taught artist with a background in construction, Dorian works mainly with woods and metals. He has a keen interest in exploring ideas based on the re-construction of found objects as a means of creating functional and sculptural structures.

Dorian has found inspiration through his extensive overseas travels and has been particularly influenced by the free flowing forms of Antonio Gaudi.
