Artist Profile: Melissa McIntyre

Melissa currently lives on Waiheke Island, situated in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf. A self-employed designer/artist for over twenty years, Melissa has explored a variety of mediums and gained a wealth of experience through her extensive overseas travels.

Her focus is now on establishing an Auckland based NZ design and manufacturing practice that allows her to work close to home.

Melissa is interested in design processes that consider local artist contribution and collaboration in the aims of producing unique NZ made products. Sourcing a variety of talent and experience to create works based on ideas.

Each of Melissa’s handmade lamps are unique in design and choice of print. These lamps are made in collaboration with printmaker Sam Farquhar.
