E nga kai matakitaki, rangatira hoki. Nga mihi nunui ki a koutou katoa, nga maramara o ratou te hunga kua haere. Enei kupu ruarua nei hei whakaatu ki a koutou etahi korero e pa ana kia a au.

My name is Ross Gregory and I was born in Pukepoto in the far north, 1939. The iwi that I am closely affiliated to are Te Rarawa, Te Aupouri, Ngati Kuri, Ngati Kahu, Ngai Takoto, Te Paatu, Nga Puhi and Kai Tahu.

I became interested in carving by watching my grand uncle Jesse Toi Robson – a self taught artist. This has been my only formal training. I have been greatly interested in the artwork of my tupuna in the far north, which has influenced my style and work.

E hoa ma ka nui noa atu enei pitopito korero. Ka mimiti haere te reka o tenei kumara.
