Shane is acknowledged by his tribesmen of Ngati Maniapoto as a source of Maori traditions; ancient songs and chants, and oratory. Shane’s wife Tania and their two children Ariahuia and Hawaiki, live in the King Country haven of Waitomo Caves; “they are my source and inspiration. It is from this place that I look out and see the world around me and share my gifts; gifts of the puna range”.
