Sharlene is of Te Arawa and Ngati Raukawa descent.

She currently resides in Flaxmere, Hastings with her husband and five beautiful children. She learned raranga (weaving) four years ago and has been tutoring for the past two years.

Sharlene believes she has been given a gift which has bought such passion, restoration and blessing into not only in her own life but also to the lives of those she has had the honour and pleasure of tutoring and for this, she is truly grateful to the Creator of all things. The inspiration for her work is something that just flows from within as she creates each piece.
