Artist Profile: Tim Wigmore
Tim Wigmore lives on New Zealand’s Taranaki Peninsular nestled between Mt Taranaki
and its rugged west coast beaches. Since receiving his degree in 3D design in 1998,
Tim has been developing his design philosophy and producing work which focuses on
quality and innovation, for various outlets around the country as well as for residential and
commercial clients.
‘My aim is to enthuse and involve people with engaging objects that elicit mental and
physical interaction. My work strives to connect people with design and to produce
objects that develop strong rewarding relationships and provide value and enjoyment. I
strive to make high quality work that resists obsolescence, and use materials and
process that reflect my deep respect for the health of my clients, myself, and our
surroundings’.
Tim has exhibited in galleries and museums throughout New Zealand and is receiving
much acclaim for his innovative furniture designs. Touted as one of the five hot new NZ
Design Talents and winner in the Home and Entertaining 2006 design awards and
finalist in the 2007 awards, he continues to push the boundaries of craft and design.
