Phil has been creating sculptures and furniture for over 26 yrs. Starting as a cabinetmaker with Wright & Turnull in Christchurch at age 20, it also included 12 yrs exploring blacksmithing, engineering and working with a combination of metal and wood.

Phil has been working at the Victoria University of Wellington Design & Architecture School where he assists students and academics with their model-making projects. As Model-maker Phil leads the CNC digital suite, which comprises of state of the art technologies. Alongside this career he has a driving ambition to create his own craft sculpture. Kura has been a very supportive Gallery over the years, the steel counter in the Auckland Gallery was made by myself in collaboration with Jude some 10 yrs ago.
