Nick Fient

Jewellery Designer

Nick prides himself on simple jewellery designs, which are functional and
durable. He uses only solid fine or sterling silver. He loves to work with
natural materials like paua shell and beach stones.

Nick’s motto is – You can never have too many spirals.
Nick lives with his wife Sybille and son Theo in Golden Bay at the top of the
South Island and borders the Abel Tasman National Park, with beautiful
beaches across the road. Nick grew up in Dunedin and completed a business degree before beginning more creative pursuits. After living in several places and travelling the world, Nick has found a lifestyle where making jewellery is an ideal way to support his family. He has been creating jewellery for over 15 years and now enjoys the challenge of combining creativity and small business. I lead a very full life and am involved in a wide range of activities.
I consider myself extremely fortunate to have ended up in such a beautiful place and being able to earn my living in such a creative way. One is Nick’s passions is stone carving and sculpture, mainly from Pounamu (greenstone). He has had carvings accepted into the New Zealand National Poumanu and Jade Exhibition in 2000, 2002 and 2004. In 2000 he won the Premier Award for adornment for a pendant entitled ‘pod’, which is now in the National collection. *All Stone Arrow jewellery has a lifetime guarantee against faulty workmanship.
