“A’ohe hananui Ka Alu’ ia”

The Hawaiian proverb “A’ohe hananui Ka Alu’ ia” translated to mean “united we stand divided we fall.”
This proverb is the foundation on which all the artists involved have based their artworks on. It is the strength of the united oceanic culture which is the basis of this exhibition, ‘Common Origin’.

As Pacific peoples of a common origin, we can only be stronger as one.
One Waka but many paddles.
