“I love New Zealand, it’s in my heart and soul. My grandparents and great grandparents are buried here. I belong nowhere else, so as a craftworker I felt I needed to learn a craft that is only done in NZ.
To show respect to the Tangata Whenua I learnt from them the skill of Korowai weaving. I am very grateful to my tutors and fellow weavers at the Papakura Marae, Auckland for their help and inspiration.”
