Sunnah Thompson has been carving for over 20 years and still considers himself a learner in the art of carving. Sunnah’s iwi(tribe) is Te Kawerau-a-Maki of West Auckland, North Island. He is currently a full-time carver creating works for iwi, public commissions and galleries. Sunnah has completed many commissioned public artworks including the Arataki Visitors Centre Pou in West Auckland’s Waitakere Ranges.
